Army Wife Serving Sweetly!
Welcome I am Regina Bankston - Owner, Cake Designer, Pastry Chef, ICES Certified Master Sugar Artist, Army wife, and mother of two! Being an Army wife is a special honor in which I proudly serve our country through supporting my husband and baking my way around the world.
Camouflage Catering was born upon our return home from overseas in 2002. Named aptly so after my 1st set of cakes for the neighborhood boys who wanted Army birthday cakes in honor of their father's profession. Since then my trade mark cakes have been my military flag cakes and have grown to encompass all special occasion cakes as well as wedding cakes. We are a fully licensed and inspected in home bakery.
Over the years I have studied and taken classes from great cake/sugar artists such as; Norm Davis, Keith Ryder, Susan O'Boyle-Jacobsen, Pat Trunkfield, Nick Lodge, Colette Peters, Geraldine Randlesome, Eleanor Rylander, Kim Morrison, Toba Garrett, Massie Parrish, plus many more. In the 4th year of my business I took time out to attend culinary school at L'Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg MD and graduated from their Pastry Arts Program in 2007. In 2008 I tested at the ICES convention in Orlando FL, passed and Certified as a Master Sugar Artist. In addition to having yearly entries in cake shows from the east coast to Oklahoma, the past two years I have enjoyed judging at the Cake Decorators of Tidewater Cake Show 2008/2009.
This year watch for my entries in the National Capital Area Cake Show March 20th of 2010 in Fairfax VA. And check out my calendar for classes I will be teaching this spring 2010.
Currently you can find us in Grafton/Yorktown VA. It is here that I continue to support our country, my husband, bake cakes, and raise 2 teenagers. It is an honor you have invited Camouflage Catering to be apart of your special event. I look forward to serving you Sweetly!
